Stranger Things è una serie televisiva ambientata negli anni ottanta in una fittizia piccola città dell’Indiana in onda sulla piattaforma di streaming Netflix. La seconda stagione è stata disponibile a partire dal 27 ottobre 2017.
Le musiche originali della colonna sonora sono composte da Michael Stein e Kyle Dixon, ex Survive, e richiamano le atmosfere di quegli anni. L’album è disponibile a partire dal 20 ottobre 2017.
Nella prima stagione oltre alla musica originale, Stranger Things è caratterizzato da musiche provenienti da artisti vari tra cui The Clash, Joy Division, Toto, New Order, The Bangles, Foreigner, Echo e Bunnymen, Peter Gabriel e Corey Hart, oltre a brani di Tangerine Dream, John Carpenter e Vangelis. In particolare, Should I Stay or Should I Go dei The Clash è stata scelta per i momenti cruciali della storia, come quando Will sta cercando di comunicare con Joyce.
