In programmazione radiofonica dal 31 maggio, The Next Day è – dopo Where Are We Now? e The Stars (Are Out Tonight) – il terzo singolo tratto dall’omonimo album di David Bowie.
Il brano è stato anticipato dal video diretto dalla regista e fotografa italo-canadese Floria Sigismondi e ha come protagonisti, oltre allo stesso Bowie, Gary Oldman e Marion Cotillard.
