Boom Clap è il primo singolo estratto dall’album contenente i brani della colonna sonora di Colpa delle stelle (titolo originale The Fault in Our Stars), film del 2014 diretto da Josh Boone, il Italia da settembre, tratto dall’omonimo romanzo di John Green.
Scritta da Charlotte Aitchison, Fredrik Berger, Patrik Berger, Stefan Gräslund, la canzone inizialmente è stata scritta per l’album di debutto di Charli XCX, True Romance, e successivamente offerta all’attrice e cantante Hilary Duff per il suo nuovo album. Una volta che la Duff ha declinato l’offerta, la XCX ha deciso di utilizzarla come suo contributo alla colonna sonora del film.
