Diretto da Tate Taylor, Get on Up – La storia di James Brown (titolo originale Get On Up: The James Brown Story) è un film, con protagonista Chadwick Boseman, che ripercorre la vita di James Brown – The Godfather of Soul, il padrino del Soul – a partire dall’infanzia fino al grande successo planetario.
La pellicola è stata distribuita nelle sale cinematografiche italiane a partire dal 6 novembre 2014. Naturalmente la colonna sonora è per gran parte basata sulle canzoni del grandissimo artista di cui si racconta la biografia mentre la composizione delle musiche originali sono state affidate a Thomas Newman, che per Tate aveva già composto la soundtrack di Help.
