Below è una miniserie Netflix in sei episodi, uscita l’8 ottobre 2026. È ambientata a Snooks Arm, una piccola comunità di pescatori sulla costa di Terranova, dove un’anomalia misteriosa si apre nelle profondità dell’oceano. Mentre autorità e abitanti cercano di capire cosa stia emergendo dal fondo, i sospetti si moltiplicano e il confine tra realtà e incubo si fa sempre più sottile. Il vero abisso è anche quello dei segreti e dei peccati che la famiglia Penney e il resto del paese si portano dietro da anni.
Il cast
Il protagonista è Josh Hartnett nei panni di Calvin Penney, affiancato da Charlie Heaton (Wade Penney) e Mackenzie Davis, che interpreta la biologa marina Fonda Howander. Nel cast anche Ruby Stokes, Kaleb Horn, Rohan Campbell e Willow Kean.
La musica
La colonna sonora alterna brani d’epoca e canzoni da taverna marinara a pezzi rock e post-punk. Tra i brani scelti ci sono Mother dei Danzig, The Passenger nella versione di Siouxsie & The Banshees, The Endless Sea di Iggy Pop, Sundown di Gordon Lightfoot e Fisherman’s Blues dei Waterboys.
