Sheeran ha detto che la canzone era “ispirata all’intero film, voleva solo essere triste, eppure euforica e sollevare un po’ le persone.” Il film, su un adolescente malata di cancro che si innamora di un altro paziente malato di cancro, si occupa dell’importanza dell’amore di fronte alla morte.
